State Police: Woodstock man dead after rear-ending dump truck on Interstate 66

A Woodstock man is dead following an accident Monday night on Interstate 66 in Warren County.

John K. Barb, 44, died at the scene near the six mile marker, according to Virginia State Police.

Barb was traveling west in a Kia Forte on I-66 when he allegedly rear-ended a westbound dump truck at approximately 8:15 p.m. The dump truck was accelerating from a nearby entrance ramp when it was struck, VSP said.

The driver of the dump truck, a 65-year-old male from Bunker Hill, W. Va., was not injured in the crash. The driver of the dump truck was not identified by police.

The fatal accident remains under investigation.
