Staunton Senior Center featured on NBC29

ssc-headerNBC 29 covered preparations for World Elder Abuse Awareness Day at Staunton Senior Center June 11. Watch the video at www.nbc29.com/story/22566094/valley-groups-work-to-raise-awareness-of-elder-abuse.

SSC held its WEAAD Kickoff earlier when volunteers picked up packets of purple ribbons to distribute throughout the area. Employees at doctor’s office, big box stores like Walmart, pharmacies, restaurants and other retail stores will be asked to wear the ribbons throughout the week, but especially on Saturday, June 15, in recognition of World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, June 15.

Waynesboro Senior Center is also distributing ribbons throughout its community. If you’d like to do this in your area, contact Lynn Harris, 540-886-4634.
