Sims, Falk lead Royals over Johnson & Wales, 91-51

R.J. Sims (Fort Washington, Md./Friendly) scored a team-high 16 points while David Falk (Madison, Va./Madison) came off the bench to add 12 points and 11 rebounds as the Eastern Mennonite University Runnin’ Royals defeated Johnson & Wales, 91-51, Saturday afternoon during day two of the Don Glick Classic in Bridgewater, Va.

The win boosts the Runnin’ Royals record to 3-6 on the year.  Johnson & Wales remains winless at 0-12.

Adam Burroughs (Roanoke, Va./Northside) had 13 points and four steals. Dajon Daniels added another 12 points and four rebounds while Sims grabbed nine boards and three assists in the win.

BJ Sumpter paced Johnson & Wales with 13 points off the bench. Sydney Mitchell added nine points and a team-high 10 rebounds.

EMU shot 44 percent from the floor (33-for-75) compared to 35.1 percent (20-for-57) for Johnson & Wales. The Runnin’ Royals forced the Wildcats into 42 turnovers.

The Runnin’ Royals will return home for only the third home game of the season when they host Messiah College on Saturday, Dec. 17, at 4 p.m.
