St. Anne’s-Belfield School’s SPARK! Hackathon hosting Feb. 2 demo party

st. anne's-belfield schoolSt. Anne’s-Belfield School will host its fifth annual SPARK! Hackathon this weekend.

The two-day event of learning and making will bring together 75 high school students from 12 area schools, and offers them a unique opportunity to connect with industry experts and fellow teens passionate about changing the world through technology.

On Sunday, teams will solve real world problems via innovative and inspiring technological creations. Participants will present their solutions during a 5 p.m. Demo Party open to the public.

Event sponsors include Roomkey, Willowtree, Explore Learning, U.Va. Biomedical Engineering (BME), Mission Secure, Moonlighting, Tech Dynamism, Ting, and Vault Virginia.

An expected 15 mentors from 12 organizations will work with the students throughout the weekend.
