Community Action Partnership of Staunton, Augusta and Waynesboro (CAPSAW) announced an expansion of its free tax preparation services. CAPSAW Coordinator Anna Leavitt explained that nationwide approximately 25 percent of eligible taxpayers are not claiming the Earned Income and Child Tax Credits.

Waynesboro Senior Center Yard Sale Committee volunteers have been working really hard in the last couple weeks. They had been hosting a monthly yard sale at the Center as a fundraiser for us. But we had to cancel the yard sales for the last four months due to our construction project. They are going to resume with a Yard Sale next week on Thursday (February 7) from 10a.m. – 1p.m. For the last two weeks the committee has been hard at work, cleaning, reorganizing, and pricing all the new donations. Our sales are always open to the public and the best way to say thank you to this group is to have a large number of shoppers attend the sale. Please come out to see what treasures we have!

WTA’s Gateway will present its first evening in 2013 devoted exclusively to traditional bluegrass music on Saturday, Feb. 2. Back by popular demand are The SunnySide Family Band and Blue Mountain Sunrise. Performance will begin at 8 p.m. at 329 West Main in downtown Waynesboro.

Night of the Superstars promises to bring in a sellout crowd to Waynesboro High School in Waynesboro, Va., on Saturday, April 13. Kevin Nash is will headline the show, with other talents on the card including Jake “The Snake” Roberts, The Rock ‘n Roll Express, X-Pac, Robbie R, Gunner, Miss Tessmacher, Dominio, Jamin Olivencia and The Barbarian.

The Greater Augusta Regional Chamber of Commerce has added technology to its annual Business Showcase, and with the second Thursday of the month falling on Valentine’s Day, the Chamber decided to seek out the state’s official L-O-V-E display as an additional attraction to the day of activities.
