Waynesboro | Police investigate ‘suspicious death’ on West Main Street

A deceased male body was discovered in the City of Waynesboro today, and police are calling the death “suspicious.”

Michael H. Capaccio, 68, of Staunton, was found dead at a residence at 2001 W. Main St., across the street from the Waynesboro Landscape & Garden Center.

Officers with the Waynesboro Police Department conducted a welfare check at approximately 2:25 p.m., and the body was located upon entering the home.

The incident is under investigation.

There is no immediate threat to the community, and no further information is being released at this time, according to a news release from the Waynesboro Police Department.
