Waynesboro | Few details released in investigation into shooting downtown

The Waynesboro Police Department responded to a parking lot at the intersection of Arch Avenue and West Main Street Saturday night and found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim, who has not been identified, was transported to Augusta Health and later transferred to UVA Health. He is currently in stable condition.

Police responded to the incident at approximately 11:40 p.m.

Authorities believe this is an isolated incident and not a threat to the public. No details have been released on a suspect or suspect vehicle.

The Waynesboro Police Department is asking anyone with information to contact (540) 942-6786.
