A Virginia man was sentenced last week to 10 years in prison for possession with intent to distribute fentanyl.

A search warrant was served on Dwaine Tyrone Jones Jr., 27, of Stafford, on Oct. 17, 2023, at a residence he shared with his girlfriend and her parents.

According to court documents, the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office recovered a parcel with 16,245 counterfeit blue oxycodone pills containing fentanyl and stamped with “M30” on Oct. 2, 2023.

  • 40.5 grams of cocaine
  • a scale
  • $47,770 in cash

  • a loaded 9mm semiautomatic handgun

The total weight of the fentanyl pills was 2,137.04 grams. The street value of the fentanyl was approximately $320,000. The cocaine was valued at approximately $2,500.

Jessica D. Aber, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, and Jarod Forget, Special Agent in Charge for the Drug Enforcement Administration’s Washington Division, made the announcement after sentencing by U.S. District Judge M. Hannah Lauck on Aug. 21.
