De’Andre Hunter and Kyle Guy earned first-team all-ACC honors, and Ty Jerome was named to the second team, the conference announced Monday.

Hunter and Guy were also honored earlier Monday as third-team All-America selections by Sporting News.

Hunter, a redshirt sophomore out of Philadelphia, averaged 15.6 points in ACC play to lead the Cavaliers and also contributed 5.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists and just 1.5 turnovers per contest. He shot 53.2 percent from the floor as well as 50 percent from three — second-best on the team — in conference play. Hunter saved had some of his best performances when Virginia needed him most, including a career-high 26 points at Louisville, when the Cavaliers had to climb out of a double-digit, second-half deficit. In non-conference action, Hunter led Virginia to the Battle 4 Atlantis crown and won tournament MVP honors. Overall, he had a team-best eight games with at least 20 points.

Guy, a junior from Indianapolis, shot 44.9 percent from three in conference play this season, third-best in the ACC, and upped his scoring average to a team-best 15.3 on the year overall. On March 4, Guy made eight threes, a career high, and one behind the program’s single-game record of nine, held by Curtis Staples. Guy also improved vastly as a rebounder, hauling in 4.5 boards, a career high and third-most on the team. He had seven games of at least 20 points.

Jerome, a junior from New Rochelle, New York, finished the season on a very strong note. His final two games were a 16-point, 14-rebound performance at Syracuse and then a 24-point explosion against Louisville, the most he scored against an ACC opponent this year. Jerome’s biggest contribution, though, was his excellent passing. He is the first Virginia player ever to average more than six assists per game in conference play (Jerome finished with 6.1). He finished with the top assist rate in the ACC.
