The UVA Football media, on Tuesday, got their first crack at Tony Elliott since the Jahmal Edrine rape case hit the news wire.
You can guess how many times the name Jahmal Edrine came up in the presser.
Take the under.
Compliance in advance.

- Albemarle County: UVA Football player charged with rape, abduction
- Bond set for former UVA Football wideout Jahmal Edrine in rape, abduction case
The Q-and-A went 23:22; the transcript is 4,583 words.
We got questions that gave Elliott the chance to expound on how his program needs to “double down on our core values,” about the importance of “culture” and “fit,” about guys dealing with offseason surgeries and rehab, issues with the NCAA regarding eligibility waivers.
The questions went through the position groups pretty much group-by-group, but of note, they didn’t get around to asking about the wide receivers until the 16th question in what ended up being a 19-question press conference.
It’s as if nobody wanted to be the guy or gal to touch the rail on that.
No worries there, gang – TE didn’t come close to making news.
Now, to be fair, I wasn’t there, so I don’t know if there were instructions read to them ahead of time about not bringing up Jahmal Edrine, though I doubt it.
At risk of upsetting the stick-to-sports crowd, the White House press corps doesn’t need to be told what questions they can’t ask Donald Trump when he holds court on the back of Air Force One or in the Oval Office.
You want to be invited back and get your name called when you raise your hand, you play by the unwritten rules.
Which is why there was nothing of any value coming out of TE’s first presser of the spring.
I mean, seriously, we weren’t waiting with bated breath to hear his thoughts on how the QB room is coming together and the depth on the offensive line one day into spring practice, five months before the team flies to Brazil for a “home” game that we apparently gave away for nothing.
