vatechOhio State coach Urban Meyer said Monday that he will not name a starting quarterback until the day of the Buckeyes’ season opener at Virginia Tech on Sept. 7.

The defending national champs have 2014 Big Ten player of the year J.T. Barrett and Cardale Jones, who led them to the Big Ten title and their two wins in the College Football Playoff, competing for the starting quarterback job.

The incumbent starting QB going into the 2014 season, Braxton Miller, will play wide receiver for Ohio State in 2015.
