Two Northern Virginia adults have confirmed cases of measles, according to the Virginia Department of Health.

The two adult patients recently traveled together domestically; their destination was not released.

VDH is working to identify people who may have been exposed in the Commonwealth, primarily in Manassas, between Feb. 13 and Feb. 17.

If exposed, the most likely time you would become sick would be between Feb. 18 and March 10.

If you notice symptoms of measles, VDH recommends you isolate yourself by staying home.

Most people in Virginia have immunity to measles through vaccination, so the risk to the public is low.

People who are not immune to measles may qualify for post-exposure treatments.

In 2026, Virginia has 10 reported cases of measles.
