richmond music week logo Richmond will host a week-long celebration of its thriving music scene Aug. 2-11 at live venues throughout the city.

Throughout the week, many of Richmond’s live music venues will feature performances from across different genres and artists from big name acts at larger venues like The National and the Dominion Energy Center to local and regional musicians at places such as The Camel, Black Iris and Get Tight Lounge.

Richmond Music Week will also highlight local record stores, record labels and recording studios along with pop-up events at various locations around the city.

“We’re excited to be in our second year promoting Richmond, Virginia, as an incredible music destination,” said Doug Nunnally with The Auricular. “We received tons of positive response from the community and we’re looking forward to spotlighting even more about our city’s all-inclusive music scene from local bands and nationally recognized artists to creative hubs and organizations that continue to make it better.”

Richmond Music Week is brought together by Richmond music organizations and supporters HearRVA, Ignited, The Auricular and Shockoe Records.

“We encourage anyone interested in discovering live music in Richmond this week to take advantage of the online listings and special events to get a small taste of what the city’s music scene offers including pop, hip-hop, rock, jazz, electronica, metal, folk, punk, experimental and more,” said Rian Moses-Hedrick with HearRVA.
