Did you know that when you drink a fresh juice, your body is able to assimilate and absorb the nutrients within 15 minutes of consumption? Compare that to the over two hours it takes for your body to do the same thing with solid food.

This means that your body is not only getting the nutrients it needs to thrive faster, it is also expending far less energy to do so.

One of the reasons why pressed juices is so healthy is because it allows you to consume a huge amount of fresh fruits and vegetables in a quick and easy manner. Just think about it, try eating eight kale leaves, a large cucumber, a head of lettuce, a handful of parsley, a pear, a lemon, two bananas and a large piece of ginger in one sitting. That’s going to take you quite a lot of time. On the other hand you can consume all of that (and more honestly) in one bottle of pressed juice.

It can be quite hard to do this work on your own, luckily the ever-evolving health craze has led to companies such as the Pure Green Franchise, the Pressed Juicery, and more which offer pre-made pressed juices for purchase.

But what are the benefits of juicing? Simply, juicing has significant benefits for not just your body, but your mind as well. Juicing is a fantastic way to pump ‘superfoods’ into your bloodstream at a significantly expedited pace. It also extracts vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, chlorophyll, enzymes and phytochemicals from the pulverized fruits and vegetables inside. By removing the soluble fiber from the fruits and veggies, your body and absorb all the good stuff almost instantaneously.

Another added benefit is that when you remove and indigestible fiber, it gives your body’s digestive system a much-needed break from the taxing job of breaking down foods and extracting the essential nutrients inside.

The way juicing can help you mind is from the incredible connection between your digestive system and your mind call the gut-brain axis. Studies are increasingly showing that the connection between the first and second largest nervous systems in the body are intimate. The healthier your gut and digestive tract, the healthier your mind. In fact, some studies have shown that a healthy gut can even lead to a reduced risk of anxiety and depressive disorders.

So, now that you know a bit about the incredible health benefits related to juicing, what are some of the key fruits and vegetables to utilize? Basically, they can be broken down into three groups: greens, roots, and fruits. Here are some of the best ones within each group

  • Kale: One of the best superfoods out there. It’s got tons of iron, calcium, and antioxidants. While it can be quite difficult to eat raw, juiced kale has a delicious flowery taste.
  • Ginger: This root isn’t just wonderful for its flavor, it is also fantastic for its ability to reduce nausea and muscle pain and soreness, as well as a natural anti-inflammatory.
  • Apples: A delicious snack while eaten raw, apples add sweetness to any juice and is a great source of antioxidant vitamin C which helps promote immunity and protects cell from damage due to free radicals.
