A teacher’s aide at Valley Academy has been arrested after an investigation found she had multiple inappropriate relationships with male students.
Beyonce Milagro Mass, 23, of Staunton, was indicted by an Augusta County grand jury on Tuesday. She has been charged with two counts of indecent liberties with a child by custodian.
She was arrested on Wednesday and is being held without bond at Middle River Regional Jail.
The investigation into the inappropriate relationships began when Child Protective Services, or CPS, provided a referral to the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office.
The alleged inappropriate relationships did not occur at the Fishersville school, according to authorities. The activity allegedly occurred off campus.
According to the ACSO, Mass is no longer employed by the school system. The Valley Academy is a regional alternative school for students in Waynesboro and Augusta County.
The case remains under active investigation. Her next court hearing is scheduled for June 2, according to online case information.
Mass does not appear to have faced charges previously except for minor traffic infractions.
