Staunton to begin annual leaf collection program the week of Nov. 3

The City of Staunton will begin its annual leaf collection program the week of Nov. 3, with the collection continuing through early January.

Residents who would like to participate should rake leaves to the curb or street right-of-way, keeping them away from storm drains and free of rocks, branches or other debris.

Leaf piles containing debris will not be collected, as they can damage collection equipment.

Crews will start in the northwestern portion of the city.

A final, city-wide collection will take place in January.

Leaves must be placed at the curb by 7 a.m. to be collected.

Collected leaves will be provided to local farms for composting.
