Happy Birthday America, the non-profit, all-volunteer organization that hosts Independence Day festivities in Staunton, is accepting parade, pageant, food concessions, non-food vendor, music and entertainer, volunteer and 5K race applications for the 4th of July celebration.

Sponsorship opportunities are also available for the free community celebration.

The exciting three-day celebration kicks off Sunday, June 29 with the Happy Birthday America Beauty Pageant. On Thursday, July 3, join the community for an uplifting Vespers Service. On Friday, July 4, enjoy a fun-filled day featuring a 5K race, parade, delicious food options and a carnival. Festivities for 2025 are headlined by special musical performances from Wilson Fairchild and Emily Ann Roberts.

Be a part of the 2025 Fourth of July Parade. Potential entry categories include: antique vehicles, business/commercial, church, civic/organization/car club, dance/cheer/martial arts/sports, emergency vehicles, equestrian, marching bands, military, pageant, political, school, veteran and groups/organizations. Parade applications will sell out.

Win a crown, lead a parade! You are invited to join the community for a first-class pageant production. New Queens will lead the annual July 4 parade through Gypsy Hill Park on the morning of the July 4 and serve as royalty for the annual Happy Birthday America celebration in Staunton.

Sell your culinary creations and join the community as a food vendor at the 2025 Fourth of July celebration.

The celebration offers individuals, organizations and businesses a unique opportunity to come together and celebrate America‘s independence. Whether you are interested in showcasing your talents or selling your products, a place exists for you at the celebration.

The three-day free community event is not possible without the help of many volunteers, who are needed to work at the information booth and assist in the parade lineup, event setup and breakdown.

Join the fun at Staunton’s Largest 5K Race. Experience the excitement of the Firecracker 5K, Staunton’s biggest and most competitive 5K event.
