Senior Forum in Waynesboro next week

Chris Graham

The Waynesboro Senior Advocacy Commission is hosting a Senior Forum on Monday, Sept. 28, from 5-7 p.m. at Waynesboro First Baptist Church (301 S. Wayne Ave.). Seniors, caregivers, family members, and policy makers are all invited to attend this free event.

The Senior Forum will include:
– Expert guest speakers
– Information Fair
– Refreshments
– Door prizes

Approximately 18 percent of Waynesboro residents are 65 or older (higher than the state average). As the baby boomer generation reaches older adulthood, the number of seniors in Waynesboro is predicted to double. The demand for medical care, caregiver support, transportation, and other vital services will skyrocket. Join us at the Senior Forum to start a community dialogue about senior issues and needs.

The Senior Advocacy Commission has partnered with local businesses to make the Senior Forum possible. Our community sponsors include Augusta Health, Home Instead Senior Care, Summit Square, Avante at Waynesboro, McDow Funeral Home, Price Productions LLC, and Augusta Free Press. Other Waynesboro businesses are generously providing refreshments and door prize donations. The WSAC is proud to have the support of our local business community.

Information on the Senior Forum is available on online at www.WaynesboroSeniors.com.
