Richmond: Shootout on Midlothian Turnpike Saturday kills 16-year-old boy, injures two women

A 16-year-old boy was killed, and two adult females were injured by gunfire on Midlothian Turnpike in Richmond Saturday night.

Richmond Police detectives made two arrests today in connection to the incident.

A juvenile male, 17, of Richmond, has been charged with murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and conspiracy to commit murder.

Kareem Clyburn, 32, of Henrico, was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

At approximately 10:05 p.m. on Sept. 14, officers responded to the 4000 block of Midlothian Turnpike after hearing gunfire.

The officers located three individuals who had suffered apparent gunshot wounds. Two adult females were transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries. The third victim, the 16-year-old juvenile, was pronounced dead at the scene.
