Prince Edward: Keysville man dead in fatal three-vehicle crash involving motorcycle

A 39-year-old Keysville man is dead after his motorcycle was involved in a collision on June 4 in Prince Edward County.

James A. Floyd III died at the scene of the fatal three-vehicle crash.

Virginia State Police is investigating the accident that occurred Wednesday at 5:40 p.m. on Abilene Road.

According to police, Floyd’s Harley Davidson Nightster, heading southbound on Abilene Road, attempted to pass a Ford F-450, also heading southbound.

During the attempted pass, the motorcycle struck a Mercedes GLC-Class heading northbound.

The Ford F-450 then struck the motorcycle after the initial collision.

The driver of the Mercedes, Andrea R. Lee, 47, of Rice, suffered minor injuries.

The driver of the Ford was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
