The Crozet Small Business Collaborative is welcoming visitors to stop by local businesses and collect stickers for its passport event on Saturday, April 12.

The second annual Yay! Crozet! passport event highlights Crozet’s small businesses and provides an opportunity for attendees to explore the Western Albemarle area.

The event will showcase Crozet in a positive light after headlines about a shooter at the Harris Teeter have dominated headlines in February and March.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. However, individual business hours may vary.

Business owners without physical store locations will be represented at the Community Corner, a display and information booth located in Piedmont Place that will be set up for this event.

“This event is an experience you won’t want to miss,” said Katie McFarland, owner of Blue Ridge Concierge. “Hosted by the passionate team at Crozet Small Business Collaborative, this event shines a spotlight on the local businesses, culture and community of Crozet.”

The collaborative has spent the last year establishing a supportive outlet among local business owners. They are excited to celebrate their one-year anniversary as an organization with this capstone event.

“This passport event has quickly become a beloved tradition, and we’re excited to celebrate its second year, and our first full year as an organization,” said Rose Guterbock, CSBC co-founder. “This event is all about connecting our community, showcasing the incredible local businesses, and giving visitors a chance to explore the hidden treasures of Crozet.

“Whether you’re here for the first time or are a long-time local, there’s always something new to discover.

“We invite everyone to grab a passport, explore the town, and experience the warmth and charm of the small businesses that make Crozet such a special place.”

Each completed passport serves as an entry into a prize drawing featuring items from local merchants.

Passports are available at any participating business including restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques and shops, vineyards, health and fitness studios and more.

The event is free, and no purchase is necessary to collect stickers.
