Chris Graham

washington nationalsA dropped fly ball opened the door for the Miami Marlins in a 5-1 win over Washington at Nationals Park on Sunday.

Martin Prado popped up on the infield with two outs in the third. Nats second baseman Stephen Drew lost the ball in the sun, dropped it, and two runs scored on the play to put Miami up early.

Ryan Zimmerman hit what turned into an inside-the-park homer in the fourth on a ball that sliced between right fielder Giancarlo Stanton and center field Marcell Ozuna, who collided on the warning track and both fell to the ground injured on the play.

Both would remain in the game, and Stanton went on to hit a solo homer, his 11th of the season, in the sixth.

Joe Ross (3-3, 2.63 ERA) took the loss for Washington (23-15), giving up five runs, three earned, on seven hits in five and two-thirds innings.
