Longwood was able to hang around for a while, but Kansas State shot 58.9 percent from the floor and was 11-of-20 from three, and was able to pull away for an 80-64 win in the third-place game in the Paradise Jam on Monday.

K State grad senior Coleman Hawkins had 19 points on 5-of-7 shooting from three, and also had 10 rebounds, five assists, two steals and two blocks.

Kyrell Luc led Longwood (6-2) with 15 points and four assists.

Colby Garland chipped in with 13 points for the Lancers.

“I was proud of the guys and their effort tonight,” said Longwood coach Griff Aldrich. “We faced a good team that made tough shots throughout the game. To compete at this level, our execution has to be more crisp and consistent. Unfortunately, we had to many lapses, and credit Kansas State. They made us pay when those lapses occurred.”

The Lancers wrapped up the four-game road swing 2-2 and return home to open a four-game homestand on Sunday at 1 p.m. when they host Regent. The game will air on ESPN+.
