Jimenez pitches Baltimore to Game 1 win

lgo_mlb_baltimore_oriolesUbaldo Jimenez threw eight shutout innings, and the Baltimore Orioles rode his strong start to a 4-0 win over the Cleveland Indians in the first game of a doubleheader on Sunday.

Jimenez (7-3) gave up four hits, didn’t walk a batter and struck out seven in eight innings of work.

Jimmy Paredes hit his ninth homer of the season, a two-run shot, in the third, and Manny Machado hit his 15th homer of the year, a solo shot, in the sixth.

Baltimore (40-34) is a half-game out of first place in the American League East with the win.
