Interstate 81 slow-roll closure in Rockbridge County on Aug. 17

i81-headerMotorists should be alert for northbound and southbound slow-roll lane closures early Sunday morning,August 17, along Interstate 81 in Rockbridge County between mile markers 174 and 182.

Closures are scheduled to begin at approximately 6:30 a.m. and last 20 to 25 minutes.

The southbound slow‐roll will begin at mile marker 182.  The northbound slow‐roll will begin at mile marker 174.  On-ramps at exits 175 and 180 will be controlled by flaggers. These brief closures are needed for installation of fiber optic cables over I-81 at mile marker 178.

All work is weather permitting.

The VDOT Staunton District serves Frederick, Shenandoah, Clarke, Warren, Page, Rockingham, Augusta, Highland, Rockbridge, Alleghany and Bath counties.
