‘Hoos, Hokies on TV this fall

The Aug. 30 season openers for Virginia and Virginia Tech will be televised, and UVa. fans will get to see their ‘Hoos each of the first three college-football weekends next fall.

Tech’s opener against East Carolina in Charlotte will be televised nationally on ESPN with a noon kickoff. UVa.’s home tilt with Southern Cal at 3:30 p.m. will be broadcast regionally on ABC and on ESPN2 to a national-TV audience.

Virginia is back on TV the next weekend for its Sept. 6 home game with I-AA Richmond at 3:45 p.m. on ESPNU.

The Cavs are on the U on Sept. 13 for a road game at UConn at 7:30 p.m.

Virginia Tech hosts Georgia Tech on Sept. 13 in a game that will be televised regionally on ABC and nationally on ESPN.

Two late-season Tech games are on the ESPN schedule. The Hokies host Maryland on Nov. 6 and travel the next week to Miami for a Nov. 13 contest. Both games are Thursday-night games with a 7:30 p.m. kickoff.
