Friends of the Waynesboro Public Library Bargain Booksale set for April 21

Waynesboro Public LibraryThe Friends of the Waynesboro Public Library, who bring you the big annual book sale every September, are having a Bargain Book Sale on Saturday April 21, from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.

At 50 cents a book, the Friends of the Library hope to move a lot of good books in time for summer reading at home and at the beach. At the same time, the Friends will use the space freed up by the sale to accept the community’s continued donations of quality books for futures sales. All sale proceeds benefit the Library and its programs.

In addition, the group’s annual membership drive is underway. Velma Ryan, Friends of the Library president, says “We always need more Friends. The Library is a good and inexpensive source of information and entertainment. In times like these, library usage increases. To help us keep up we need more people to join us as dues-paying Friends and as volunteers for the many tasks that the Friends perform.”

Also, suggestions about additional program or community needs that could be addressed by the Friends are always welcome. The Friends may be contacted by asking at the front desk.

“The Library belongs to everyone,” says Ryan. “We’re doing what we can to meet your needs and we hope the community is doing what they can to support us. The April book sale is the perfect time to help.”

The Waynesboro Public Library is located at 600 S. Wayne Ave. in Waynesboro. For more information, call 540-942-6746 or go to www.WaynesboroPublicLibrary.org.
