Albemarle County: Lightning strike the likely cause of house fire in Crozet

A residential fire on Tuesday afternoon in Crozet was the result of a lightning strike, according to authorities.

Albemarle County Fire Rescue career and volunteer units responded to the 1800 block of White Hall Road and discovered smoke coming from the first story of the home.

Two adults and one pet were home at the time of the fire and were able to evacuate the house safely.

No injuries were reported from this incident, but the residents have been displaced.

The Albemarle County Fire Marshal’s Office determined the cause of the Crozet house fire.
