Area journalist, freelance writer and youth mentor Chris Lassiter will hold his first two book-signings of his book, You’re Grounded, published by Moody Publishers.
The first book signing will be from 10 a.m. to noon at D. Moats Barber Shop on 101 West Frederick Street on Saturday, Dec. 28. The second signing will be during the Robert E. Lee High School boys’ and girls’ basketball double-header in front of the Paul Hatcher Gymnasium on Dec. 30.
You’re Grounded is introduction to Christianity and the Christian life aimed at readers influenced at hip-hop culture. Written in an easy-to-read fashion with lots of stories from sports and pop culture, the book is designed for personal use or group studies.
Lassiter worked as a reporter with The News Leader from 1998 to 2013, and he’s also worked with Valley Young Life as a volunteer leader at his alma mater Robert E. Lee High School in Staunton, Virginia. He’s also worked with The Office on Youth and as a volunteer at the Shenandoah Valley Juvenile Center.
He played basketball for legendary coach Paul Hatcher at Robert E. Lee High School before playing basketball at Shenandoah University.
