A 19-year-old is in the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds, a juvenile is in custody on breaking and entering charges, and an 18-year-old is in custody on drug charges, related to an incident involving multiple gunshots heard in the 200 block of Vine Street in Harrisonburg on Tuesday.
A lot to unpack here.
A 911 call at 4:52 p.m. reported the multiple gunshots, per a release from the Harrisonburg Police Department.
A second call shortly thereafter was from a man who said he had just shot someone who had broken into his apartment.
Emergency personnel arrived and found the unnamed 19-year-old with multiple gunshot wounds.
That teen is reported to have serious injuries, but is in stable condition.
The investigation into the B&E on Vine led to a search warrant being executed at Howard Johnson on East Market Street, resulting in the arrest of Joshua Dean, 18, who is being charged with possession with intent to distribute a schedule I or II narcotic, a felony.
The juvenile is charged with breaking and entering with intent to commit murder, a felony, and as a principal in the second degree, a felony.
