Virginia State Police is investigating a three-vehicle crash on Thursday at 7:10 p.m. at the intersection of Route 15, Abilene Road and Worsham Road in Prince Edward County.

A 2014 Ford Explorer was traveling eastbound on Abilene Road when it ran a stop sign and struck a 2013 Ford F150.  The collision caused the Explorer to spin out and strike a parked 2016 Jeep Compass, as well as a gas pump and a building.

The driver of the Explorer, Dawson W. Lewis, 20, of Cumberland, was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.

Lewis was not wearing a seatbelt.

A juvenile passenger in the Explorer also suffered serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital.

The driver of the F150 suffered minor injuries and transported to an area hospital.

The crash remains under investigation.
