It’s West Coast Week for the Virginia ACC teams. Virginia Tech won at Stanford on Thursday night to boost its NCAA Tournament resume. UVA lost at Cal, which certainly doesn’t help.

The ‘Hoos (17-8, 9-5 ACC, NET: 37) cut a 16-point halftime deficit to two on a Paris Clark layup with 2:04 to go, but Cal (16-10, 7-6 ACC, NET: 51) held on for the 64-58 win.

Virginia, which never led, got 14 points from Tabitha Amanze, and 10 points, eight assists and five rebounds from Kymora Johnson.

Virginia Tech (19-7, 9-5 ACC, NET: 42) took control with a big third quarter in its 79-67 win at Stanford (16-10, 5-8 ACC, NET: 43), behind 24 points and seven rebounds from Carys Baker.
