The Wayne Theatre and The News Virginian are co-sponsoring a Waynesboro City Council candidate forum set for Thursday, April 26, beginning at 7 p.m. at the Wayne Theatre.
Augusta Free Press editor Chris Graham will serve as the moderator for the forum, which will take place five days before the May 1 city elections.
Voters will be filling seats on the City Council for Ward C and Ward D.
All five candidates running for the seats have committed to take part in the forum.
- Ward C: Jeff Freeman, Bobby Henderson, Chanda McGuffin
- Ward D: Sam Hostetter, Richard Burcaw
The format will begin with five questions from The News Virginian that the moderator will put to each candidate. Following the initial questions, audience members will have the opportunity to ask a question of the candidates.
At the forum’s conclusion, each candidate will have 60 to 90 seconds for a closing statement.
