Waynesboro Country Club in financial trouble: Community meeting set for Monday evening

Contributors

waynesboro2editsThe Waynesboro Country Club is in “dire financial straits,” according to a group leading a last-ditch fundraising effort to keep the club afloat. The letter, emailed to a wide group of Waynesboro residents by June and Warren Elliott on Sunday, reports that the club needs to raise $250,000 to avoid being exposed to a forced sale or foreclosure.

WCC members are pledging substantial sums toward the effort, “but it may not be enough,” according to the email, which request pledges be made by check by Nov. 4.

The email also invites community members to a meeting at the country club on Monday at 6:30 p.m. to learn more about the issue and a proposed plan of action for getting WCC back on the right path.
