The National Collegiate Athletic Association announced its field for the 2012 Division III Football Championship on Sunday evening and Washington and Lee will hit the road for a first round contest at Hobart College.

The Generals (8-2), champions of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference, will take on undefeated Hobart (10-0) in a first round contest on Saturday, November 17 at 12:00 pm. The Statesman won the Liberty League title after completing their first unbeaten season in 55 years.

The winner of the first round contest will take on the winner of a first round game between Heidelberg (9-1) and Wittenberg (9-1) on Saturday, November 24.

Washington and Lee completed the ODAC slate with a 6-1 overall record, claiming the league’s automatic bid to the tournament for the second time in the last three seasons. The Generals lead Division III with an average of 381.3 rushing yards per game and they average 36.8 points per contest. Hobart features a stingy defense that has allowed and average of just 229.8 yards and 14.8 points per game. On offense, they average 435.2 yards and 38.9 points per game
