Route 640 (Goose Creek Road) in the Fishersville area of Augusta County is expected to remain closed through Friday, June 26 for paving, grading and utility work between Route 285 (Tinkling Spring Road) and Route 630 (Caldwell Lane). Crews installing a public sewer line encountered a large area of rock that must be removed before the work can be completed.

The Virginia Department of Transportation will close a portion of Route 692 (Plank Road) in western Albemarle County at8 a.m. Wednesday to replace a failed drainage pipe.

Overnight left lane closures are scheduled for Interstate 81 northbound and southbound in Frederick County beginning Monday, June 15 between mile marker 309 and 311 near Winchester. The closures are scheduled to take place Monday to Thursday from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., and Friday from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m.

A multi-vehicle crash has closed all Interstate 81 northbound lanes near mile marker 283 in the Woodstock area of Shenandoah County. Traffic is leaving the interstate at exit 283 traveling across Route 42 and re-entering I-81 using the exit 283 northbound on-ramp.

Nighttime Interstate 81 lane closures are scheduled in Rockbridge and Augusta counties beginning on Sunday, May 31, for guardrail work, paving and utility work. All work is weather permitting.

The City of Waynesboro is set to begin improvements at Constitution Park beginning Monday, June 1. Specific improvements include brick sidewalk pavers at the Main Street entry to the park, a handicap ramp, improved concrete steps and handrail, street crosswalk and extensive landscaping.
