Interstate 81 northbound lane closures in Shenandoah County Sept. 8-12

i81-headerThe Virginia Department of Transportation has scheduled lane, ramp and shoulder closures next week on northbound Interstate 81 in Shenandoah County. This is for overnight milling and paving and daytime guardrail work at various locations between mile markers 266 and 271. These closures are scheduled as follows, weather permitting:

Tuesday, September 8, from 12 noon to 7 p.m.: Right shoulder closure for guardrail work from mile marker 266.5 to 268.5.

Tuesday, September 8, from 7 p.m. to 9 a.m. Wednesday morning: Right lane closure for milling and paving from mile marker 266.5 to 268.5.

Wednesday, September 9, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Right shoulder closure for guardrail work from mile marker 268.5 to 270.5.

Wednesday, September 9, from 7 p.m. to 9 a.m. Thursday morning: Left lane closure for milling and paving from mile marker 268.5 to 270.5.

Thursday, September 10, from 7 p.m. to 9 a.m. Friday morning: Right lane closure for milling and paving from mile marker 268.5 to 270.5.

Friday, September 11, from 10 p.m. to 9 a.m. Saturday morning: Right lane closed for milling and paving from mile marker 268.5 to 270.5. Northbound on- and off-ramps closed at exit 269 (Route 730 – Shenandoah Caverns/Mount Jackson). Detour signs will direct drivers to the next interchange.

The VDOT Staunton District serves Frederick, Shenandoah, Clarke, Warren, Page, Rockingham, Augusta, Highland, Rockbridge, Alleghany and Bath counties.

For other assistance call the VDOT Customer Service Center, available 24 hours-a-day, seven days a week. Citizens can dial 1-800-FOR- ROAD (1-800-367-7623) from anywhere in the state to report road hazards, ask transportation questions, or get information related to Virginia’s roads.
