I am hearing from supporters of Donald Smith, who is running for Augusta County sheriff, state that they are hearing that my son has no responsibility. Obviously, they do not know Donald. You see if they did they might think twice about making those statements.

Augusta County residents are fortunate to have four capable individuals seeking the office of sherriff. I have had the privilege to be aquainted with each of these individuals. I give my support and vote to Donald Smith

We have known Donald Smith, candidate for Augusta County sheriff, and his family since before his birth. Therefore, we feel qualified in attesting to the following four statements which outline our candidates attributes.

Donald Smith knew from an early age that he wanted to work for the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office, and he’s not good at sitting back and waiting for things to just happen.

Several localities in the 20th House District have been awarded school safety grants this week by the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services. The grant is from the School Security Infrastructure Improvement Fund which was created by the General Assembly during the 2013 session.

Governor Terry McAuliffe announced Wednesday that the Commonwealth has awarded $6 million in School Security Equipment Grants to help ensure the safety of Virginia’s schools.

The boards of social services of Augusta County, Staunton and Waynesboro announced today the appointment of Anita Harris as director of Shenandoah Valley Social Services, effective Aug. 16. Harris will serve as interim director Aug. 1 through 15.

Fishburne Military School is building on the recent success of its athletics programs with the appointments of football coach Chip Hill and wrestling coach Terry Waters, both announced at the school on Monday.

DuPont Community Credit Union (DCCU) recently announced the winners of its annual scholarship contest. Over the last 20 years, DCCU has awarded nearly $250,000 in scholarship funds, helping hundreds of students continue their education.
