U.S. Sen. Mark R. Warner (D-VA) asked the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on Friday for an explanation of exceptionally long lines and wait times commonly experienced by passengers arriving on international flights at Virginia’s Dulles International Airport.

Route 733 bridge in Augusta County to close

The Virginia Department of Transportation has closed part of Route 733 (Moffett Branch Road) in Augusta County, after an inspection this week revealed additional deterioration to the bridge over Elk Run. The location is about 0.6-mile north of Route 734 (Hupman Road) near Churchville.
VDOT: A little more white stuff forecast tonight

During the overnight hours light snow is predicted to fall in the Valley region ranging from a dusting to a possible three inches. VDOT watch crews will be on duty during the night hours throughout the Staunton District to begin plowing and treating roads as needed once the snow begins to fall.

Silent auction planned in Staunton as tribute to Black History Month

A silent action has being organized which will act as a tribute to Black History Month. The event will feature art by local and non local artists. Artwork to include water color and oil paintings, collages, drawings, and photography.
VDOT: Crews, sun clearing roads

A lot of work from VDOT plow drivers and some help from mother nature is helping to clear many roadways in the Shenandoah Valley. As roads are plowed and temperatures rise, conditions are quickly improving.
