VDOT: A little more white stuff forecast tonight

snow-plow-headerThe white stuff on the roads today, again precedes the forecasted white stuff in the morning.  Virginia Department of Transportation crews applied anti-icing treatment to the interstate system today in the Shenandoah Valley, leaving the now familiar white streaks on the roadway surface.

During the overnight hours light snow is predicted to fall in the Valley region ranging from a dusting to a possible three inches. VDOT watch crews will be on duty during the night hours throughout the Staunton District to begin plowing and treating roads as needed once the snow begins to fall.

Motorist are advised to allow extra time for any travel in the morning hours. People should drive with extreme caution and be aware of freezing surfaces on bridges, overpasses and any elevated surface.
