Please join us in remembering Phil. We hope to have a team of friends and family walk together in this year’s Out of the Darkness Greater Augusta Walk. We lost Phil February 6, 2016. He loved his friends and family greatly and will be missed by many.

Our team is named “Mexico Beach” in honor of Phil’s favorite place. This is a photo of Phil and our daughter Cameron at Mexico Beach together.

Phil was a kind and gentle person and left behind a loving nine year old daughter. He battled with mental health, physical pain, and substance abuse. We need better mental health treatment, more awareness, more compassion, and less stigma in dealing with these illnesses.

I wish we could have saved him. I wish there was something else I could have done. Many people do not know how or want to deal with mental health issues. There has to be more awareness, discussion, and better treatment. I hope to try to help others in the future.

Please walk with us to remember Phil.
