krisneilWKDW Country Club host Kris Neil has served as the play-by-play broadcaster for the two-time defending Valley League champion Waynesboro Generals the past two summers.

Neil has volunteered his time calling the action at Kate Collins Field. Waynesboro Amateur Athletics, the parent non-profit of the Generals organization, is giving something back to Neil for his efforts, donating $250 in his name to the American Cancer Society, a favorite charity for Neil.

“I’ve worked with the American Cancer Society and their Relay For Life event for many years,” Neil said. “It’s a great organization that continues to make lots of strides towards finding cures for cancer. I don’t think there’s anyone out there who hasn’t been affected by cancer in some way, so I know the money will be put to great use.

“The Generals never fail to amaze me at their kindness and generosity in giving back to our community,” Neil said.

Tyler Hoffman, the general manager of the Waynesboro Generals, said the organization is honored to support Neil’s efforts to assist the American Cancer Society.

“Kris is a vital part of Waynesboro Amateur Athletics and the Waynesboro Generals organization,” Hoffman said. “As the Voice of the Generals, Kris continues to bring the entire Generals following a professional and dedicated voice as our play-by-play commentator. The entire Waynesboro Generals 0rganization is honored to make this $250 donation to the American Cancer Society and support his fundraising team.”
