Suicide: The Ripple EffectThe Wayne Theatre in downtown Waynesboro will screen a new documentary film titled Suicide: The Ripple Effect on Thursday, May 31, at 7 p.m. Admission is Pay What You Will.

The film is being screened during Mental Health Month in May.

The film is part of a global mission to help reduce the number of suicides and suicide attempts around the world. Through sharing stories of survival and recovery, the goal of the film is to help people find the support they need to stay alive and heal.

The film highlights the journey of Kevin Hines, who at age 19, attempted to take his life by jumping from the Golden Gate Bridge. Today Kevin is a world-renowned mental health advocate, motivational speaker and author who travels the globe spreading a message of hope, recovery and wellness.

“I am so pleased that the Wayne is showcasing this documentary in the Shenandoah Valley,” said Crystal Graham, a local advocate for suicide prevention and a loss survivor. “Kevin Hines’ story is well known throughout prevention circles and should resonate with those who struggle and the community as a whole,” she said.

A limited number of tickets are available to the screening. While no payment is required, advance tickets may be reserved online to guarantee a seat.
