The Wayne Theatre will present William Shakespeare‘s timeless classic “Romeo and Juliet,” which will open Friday, Feb. 14.

The iconic story of love and tragedy will run on weekends from Feb. 14-23 as part of the Wayne Theatre’s Live, Laugh, Loathe season of onstage productions.

Set in the streets of Verona, the story follows the ongoing feud between the Capulets and the Montagues, a conflict that sparks tension and heartbreak. At its heart lies the passionate and ill-fated love story of Romeo and Juliet, brought to life in a way only The Wayne Theatre can perform.

Audiences will experience the drama and romance as it unfolds.

The fiery feud between two families.
The chance encounter at a Capulet party that ignites an unforgettable romance.
The secret vows exchanged by Romeo and Juliet in a tale of love, loyalty and destiny.

“We are thrilled to bring this timeless masterpiece to the Wayne Stage. Our production captures the essence of Shakespeare’s iconic work while delivering a fresh and unforgettable experience for today’s audiences,” Tracy Straight, Executive Director of the Wayne Theatre, said.

She added that the production “will be an opportunity for audiences of all ages to experience Romeo and Juliet as you’ve never seen it before. Whether you’re a longtime fan of Shakespeare or new to his work, this production is sure to captivate and inspire.”

The Wayne Theatre is at 521 W. Main St., Waynesboro. Tickets are available online.
