Attorney General Jason Miyares will host a ‘One Pill Can Kill’ Fentanyl Awareness & Narcan Training session at Frank W. Cox High School in Virginia Beach on Monday, September 16, 2024.

The free training is open to the public and will cover understanding opioids, how opioid overdoses happen, risk factors for opioid overdoses, and how to respond to an opioid overdose emergency with the administration of Naloxone (Narcan).

In November 2022, Miyares launched the ‘One Pill Can Kill’ public awareness initiative to help generate open, honest conversations amongst families and communities about the extreme threat that counterfeit drugs and opioids pose.

Miyares will participate in a panel discussion with special guest Virginia First Lady Suzanne Youngkin, a local law enforcement officer and a representative from the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA).

The Fentanyl Awareness & Narcan Training will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Frank W. Cox High School, 2425 Shorehaven Drive, Virginia Beach.
