VDOT sets public hearing on Route 60 Corridor Study

The Virginia Department of Transportation will host a public participation meeting regarding the Route 60 Corridor Study in the city of Lexington and Rockbridge County.

The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 30, 2015 in the Rockbridge County Extension Office meeting room in the county administrative office building at 150 South Main Street, Lexington, Va. 24450. A formal presentation will take place at the start of the meeting, which runs from 5:30 – 7 p.m.

The corridor study focuses on Route 60 between the intersection of Spotswood Drive and East Nelson Street in the city of Lexington and the intersection of Quarry Lane and East Midland Trail in Rockbridge County.

The study addresses challenges and potential strategies for the Route 60 corridor through the year 2035 with a focus on mobility, public safety, multimodal transportation and the appearance of the corridor. The final version of the study will be offered as a technical document to assist Rockbridge County and Lexington with future planning decisions.
