VCU led by as many as 17 in the second half, then held off a Richmond rally that got the game to four in the final minute, on the way to a 77-69 win on Tuesday at the Siegel Center.
VCU (15-6, 6-2 A-10, NET: 49) has now won four straight.
That Top 50 NET ranking is looking mighty good for the Rams as we’re getting toward the end of the month of January.

The Spiders trailed 53-36 at the 13:36 mark, and it was still a double-digit game into the final four minutes.
A pair of stops and a pair of layups, from Jaden Daughtry and Aiden Argabright, got the margin down to four, at 71-67, with 1:06 left.
Rams guard Terrence Hill Jr. hit a late-shot-clock jumper with 39 ticks left to get the lead back to six, and VCU closed things out at the line from there.
Hill and Lazar Djokovic each had 14 points to lead the Rams.
AJ Lopez had 17 for Richmond.
