uva-logo-new2Virginia redshirt sophomore guard Malcolm Brogdon (Norcross, Ga.) has been named ACC Co-Player of the Week, announced Monday (March 3) by the ACC.

Brogdon, who shared this week’s honor with North Carolina’s Marcus Paige, averaged 17 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and one steal per game as Virginia nailed down the ACC regular-season title with a pair of wins.

Brogdon tallied a career-high 19 points, five rebounds and five assists as Virginia defeated then-No. 4 Syracuse 75-56 on Saturday to clinch its sixth ACC regular-season championship (second outright) and the No. 1 seed in next week’s ACC Tournament.

Earlier in the week, Brogdon added 15 points, four rebounds, two assists and two steals in the Cavaliers’ 65-40 win over Miami. Overall, he was 9-of-21 from the floor and 15-of-15 from the foul line in the two wins. Brogdon is the only ACC player to score in double figures in every league game this season.

No. 5 Virginia closes out the regular season at Maryland on Sunday, March 9. Tipoff at Comcast Center is set for 12 p.m. and the game will be televised by CBS.
