UVA releases 2018 men’s soccer schedule

The UVA men’s soccer program announced its 2018 schedule that features 11 home dates at Klöckner Stadium.

Virginia will open at home for the sixth-straight season and square off against NCAA Tournament qualifier New Hampshire for the first time in school history. The Cavaliers will play six of their first seven games at Klöckner Stadium.

As announced last month, Virginia and Maryland will play in the “Battle in the District” in the first college soccer game at Audi Field in Washington, D.C., the home of DC United. The game is slated for a 7 p.m. start on Monday Sept. 3

Atlantic Coast Conference play commences on Friday Sept. 7 against in-state rival, Virginia Tech. Other ACC home contests include Notre Dame (Sept. 14), Duke (Oct. 5) and Wake Forest (Oct. 20). The Cavaliers will be on the road in conference play against Syracuse (Sept. 21), Pittsburgh (Sept. 28), Clemson (Oct. 12) and North Carolina (Oct. 26).

A total of nine opponents (Clemson, Duke, FIU, Maryland, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest) qualified for the 2017 NCAA men’s soccer championship.

The 2018 ACC Tournament will be contested October 31-Nov. 11 with the championship game taking place at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C. The NCAA Tournament begins Nov. 15 and culminates with the NCAA College Cup, Dec. 7 and 9 in Santa Barbara, Calif.

The Cavaliers will play two home preseason matches beginning on Tuesday, Aug. 14 against VCU. The Cavaliers will also host Georgetown on Aug. 18. Both preseason matches are scheduled for 7 p.m. and admission is free to the public.

Beginning June 25, fans can purchase general admission season tickets online. Returning season ticket holders may renew their seats by logging into their online account or by phone at (800) 542-8821 or in-person at the Virginia Athletics Ticket Office in Bryant Hall at Scott Stadium during regular business hours, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Single-game tickets will go on sale on Aug. 6 and will feature discounted tickets when purchasing online. For all regular season home games, reserved single-game tickets can be purchased for $8 online and $10 at the box office on game day. General admission single-game tickets are $5 online and $8 at the box office on game day.
