The best news of the sports week, and it’s just Monday – the UVA Football game at Cal on Saturday is not Pac-12 After Dark, as expected, but rather, we get a 3:45 p.m. ET kick.

The game will be broadcast on ESPN2.

How hard did Carla Williams have to lobby to get a 3:45 p.m. ET kick, I wonder.

I know, officially, it’s ESPN’s call.

Neither of the Left Coast games this week is being forced into the 10:30 p.m. ET window.

Pitt-Stanford gets a 3:30 p.m. ET kickoff on ACCN.

Weird.

ESPN has #17 Cincinnati at #24 Utah at 10:15 p.m. ET, but that’s literally it.

Are they maybe trying to be fair to the East Coast teams, finally?

Both UVA (7-1, 4-0 ACC) and Pitt (6-2, 4-1 ACC) are in the thick of the race for a spot in the ACC Championship Game, so, maybe that’s a factor.

Also announced on Monday: the home game with Wake Forest on Saturday, Nov. 8, gets a 7 p.m. ET kickoff.
